How to Capture Glass in a Painting

Instructor, Cate KauffmanHave you ever struggled with figuring out how to render a wine glass or antique bottle in paint so it looks like glass? This class will help you figure out some of the secrets. We will talk about how light bends and glass distorts. Students will paint from life. This class is best approached in oils, acrylics, or pastels, but watercolorists are welcome to come and give it a go as most of the information applies regardless of medium. Note that the instructor is not very familiar with watercolors and cannot help with the techniques used in that medium. Intermediate level students will get the most out of this class. Bring the materials you are used to using, including painting surfaces, brushes, paint, etc. No materials are provided.
