Mixed Media Mosaic Workshop

Instructor, Collette MannCollette will review the concept of designing a mosaic and choosing the appropriate materials. The primary focus of the class is to create polymer clay tesserae using the provided materials. The student will learn how to create polymer tiles/tesserae using stamps, acrylic paint, mica powders, and gold and silver leaf. You will build relationships with raw materials to create a contrast of textures that talk to each other to make a unique mosaic composition. Students are welcome to bring in sentimental personal objects, such as buttons, broken jewelry, and small metal pieces,  they would like to repurpose and incorporate into their mosaic; however, this is not mandatory, as we will have a variety of items from which to choose. Open to all skill levels.
